And the winner is…

C – A movie review!

So, for my next vlog, I’ll be reviewing a movie. This  makes things a bit difficult as I have to find a movie to watch for the review. Maybe we could put that to a vote to… Ha! Nahhhh, yall would just make me watch something terrible. ;)

Check back in the  next few days for my movie review. I promise to have it up by the weekend. :)

Till next time…

Who dat?

Tired of hearing about the Superbowl already??? Me too!

So let’s talk about the Orlando Magic! Shooting guard Vince Carter had a disgusting second half and led all scoring with 48 points (3 shy of his career high). It was, as my sister’s boyfriend put it, utter “vinsanity” :) Haha. Orlando came back to win the game 123-117 after trailing New Orleans by as many as 17! Haha.

For a complete recap, click here.

On my to do list while I’m home in Orlando: Get an Orlando Magic t-shirt :) I think I’ve proven myself enough of a fan out here hounding the games that are on National TV so I can watch that I deserve to treat myself to some gear. :D

Watching that game and other various television shows is about all I did this evening. And now I’m headed to get some rest. Didn’t get much last night so I gotta catch up. Thanks for reading! Gnight!

Rejuvenated!

Wow! Today was fantastic! I slept in a bit late, not usually my favorite thing to do because of the loss of daytime, but today, it was okay! I had a really great day! I woke up, and went straight to the TV to watch the Magic/Celtics game. During halftime of the game, I received a random phone call from my sister, Marcia, and skyped with her and my nephew for a bit. That was pretty fantastic! My little nugget of a nephew is so rambunctious and getting bigger all the time. I can’t wait to hold him when I go home later this month!!

A skype snapshot of Marcia and the Nate Nugget (Too bad her eyes are closed; Nate looks adorable as ever though)

After the game, which the Magic won (this contributed to my good day), I got a workout in and headed over to Raf’s (a former page and one of my current bosses) for a Superbowl gathering.

The party was a blast! Lots of fun people in jovial moods embracing one of my favorite sports. :) Plus, AMAZING food! :) Haha. What could be better?

A Page's daydream

Lots o' Pages

I missed the majority of the ever-so-popular Superbowl commercials because of the social aspect of watching the game amongst so many people, but I figure I can make up for that with some time on Hulu.com. :)

When the game ended, some pages who were up for more celebrating moved on to a gathering at a bar in Burbank. When I arrived at the bar, I ran into one of my kickball friends named Matt. He and I have found common ground on our attitude towards kickball. I won’t go into detail on that, just know that we’ve bonded in that regard (and also over our appreciation for a good hefeweizen).

Anywho, we got to chatting and he told me that he reads my blog! I was OF COURSE delighted to know that he reads it (shout out to ya now Matt!), and even more delighted to know that he likes it. :) :) :) I begged him to comment next time he reads it so I know (aka if you’re reading this, you better comment). And I’d like to request anyone else out there reading this, if you haven’t before, leave me some feedback- good or bad. I LOVE IT! :)

Oh yes and let me not forget, the main reason I feel so rejuvenated (the title of this post)- my conversation with Matt about this blog and his take on it. Well, it just totally made my day! And, dare I say, rejuvenated me! :) Thanks Matt! :)

Okay, it’s seriously getting late. I’m off to bed! Thanks for reading. Till next time…

Oh! One more thing! I was introduced to this video last week and it’s seriously one of the funniest Youtube vids I’ve seen in the last 2 years (aka since college).

The back story: The audio was recorded as a guy from a guy who was sitting in a closet and tripping on acid. Wanting to put it on Youtube, but lacking in a visual element, the guy’s friends made animation to go along with the audio. Thus, we have “Drinking out of cups” – Enjoy!

It gets better everytime I watch it…

Project Update!

Next week is the big shoot for my first project as on-air talent! This morning my production team had our final production meeting and it went very well! With the preparation I’ve done in the last week, I’m feeling much more ready and the nervousness and anxiety is converting to excitement! :) I can’t wait till I have something to show you all! I think it’s going to come together very nicely! :)

P.S. If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, go read this post: Project KtotheC and then read this post The Full Report and you’ll be caught up. :)

Immigration to CA

Well I’ve officially emmigrated from Florida and am now a Californian… (immigration v. emigration.)

In all honesty, with all the rain we’ve had recently out here on the West Coast, Cali ain’t much different from good ole’ Florida afterall. In fact, the only difference may be that the rain is COLDER here, but that’s not a good thing. Just makes it more unpleasant. Oh yeah, and there’s no where for the water to go when it hits the ground in CA. If Florida is like a sponge, absorbing the rain, then California is like dirt allowing the rain to create mud and other unpleasantries. :P

Regardless of the pros and cons, the fact is I am officially a Californian. Or at least a California driver. I got my documentation today to prove it:

My Governor is controlled by Skynet!

Just wanted to share in the delight of my new license. They punched a hole in my old Florida license. The horror! I’m still keeping it though. Perhaps a scrapbook item if I ever get around to it… Who’s got time for that?

Thanks for checking in! Till next time…

Oh and btw, the Denver Nuggets handed a big fat LOSS to the Lakers tonight. Woohoo! Go Nuggets! That includes you, Nathan! (I call my nephew, Nathan, nugget. Ha!)

Coming Home!

Breaking news on the homefront: I’m coming to Florida! :)

I had been keeping this a secret from my mom (and thus from my blog buddies) to surprise her for her birthday at the end of this month. But, I decided it’d be more fun for her to know and look forward to the visit (and maybe bake me a cake ha!) so I shared the news last night. And now I can share  with my blog world- I’m headed to Florida at the end of this month! I’ll be in Orlando Feb 22nd-28th. I hope to see you there! :)

UF Signing Day

In case you haven’t heard, the University of Florida scored some amazing athletes today to wear an orange and blue football jersey for the next few years. In fact, UF got the #1 ranked recruiting class! Go Gators!

I said it’s great!

To be!

A Florida Gator!

LOSTies Unite!

Hey everyone! I hope you are all aware that last night was the LOST season premiere! Even if you don’t consider yourself a fan of LOST, the marketing was prevalent enough that you had to know something was going on. Well, the time finally came! The FINAL season of LOST premiered last night and holy mackeral! It was fantastic!

My true colors really shined last night as I went to watch party for the show. With that I mean I nerded out big time, but it was okay because I was amongst other total dorks! ;) I got a last minute invite to go along with my friend (and fellow UF grad), Casey. I hardly get to see Casey. He lives about an hour south of me in Orange, CA. He’s getting his masters in Film and Business at Chapman University down there near Anaheim (and Disneyland!). Anywho, we reunited yesterday during my day off (more on that later) and thus I received an invite to this LOST watch party.

I didn’t realize what I was getting into beforehand. I thought it was just going to be a small group of film/TV buffs gathering to watch one of the most riveting series on television. Well, that just wouldn’t do. This gathering was a full on party! :) I didn’t know anyone besides Casey and another friend that he invited who I happened to intern at NATPE with… that was random. The host proved his legitimacy with a full food platter including pulled pork sandwiches, chips and guac, cookies, a cheese platter, and a few other delicious treats. (I went to town of course.) There was also lots of alcohol very nicely placed out next to DARMA INITIATIVE glasses and shot glasses (see below)! It was awesome! It was like my inner LOSTie was totally embraced. Lol. They also had some “Smoke Monster Punch” that they put in dry ice. :) Very well done indeed.

There were probably about 20 people in the room. All hundled around the TV. And as soon as the show started- INSTANT SILENCE! This was a relief as I was nervous that with so many people, they would be chatter. I was prepared to come home and watch again on my DVR. But, not necessary. Everyone had respect for the show and each other’s viewing experience. It was wonderful! :) I’m VERY glad Casey invited me. :)

Darma glasses! For real?

As I mentioned above, this was a day off for me. The show aired a repeat so the show staff (like myself) were not needed. I didn’t waste the day though. I got up and ran a few errands, played some basketball (by myself because no one showed up to the open gym- disappointing), met Casey for a hike, and watched He’s Just Not That Into You. I got the movie via Netflix which I finally caved and got a subscription for. I got the lowest tier- only $5 a month. I get 2 movies per month plus 2 hours of online watching. That should be enough. And then I won’t feel the pressure to watch TONS of online shows/movies to get my money’s worth. Agreed? Good!

Speaking of money’s worth… I was analyzing my budget this evening. I received my utility bill from my roomie with my share and I basically came to a conclusion on the spot: I don’t want to pay for cable anymore. It’s costing me about $30 a month and most nights, I watch stuff on my computer (via Hulu or Surf the Channel and now, Netflix). It’s just not necessary, especially as I’m getting more strapped for cash. Granted I will DEFINITELY miss ESPN and live sports stuff BUT hopefully I can get my fix at the gym or otherwise. This isn’t an official decision yet. But I’m going to talk about it to my roomie and we’ll see what happens. Gosh, I’d really miss live sports… but the big stuff is on broadcast and I think I can watch Sportscenter stories online…. Hmmm.

Okay well, I’m dirty. I did a Jillian workout with Danielle this evening and am in need of a shower. Thanks for reading. :) If you haven’t already, please vote here for my next VLOG! I love comments anyway and this is your chance to make me SUPER happy with a VOTE and COMMENT combo. :) Plus, I’m trusting you all to pick something good! February already?!

That means my rent is due… Boooo! Lol. I can’t believe it’s already February! It feels like just yesterday I was moving out here, moving in to my place, and getting my appendix re-moved. ;)

I’ve been out on the West Coast for a full 7 months now. This month (February) will be my 8th in California- that’s 2/3 of a year! I suppose it’s fitting that I just got a California driver’s license. I have to admit I like it out here. More than I ever thought I would. I’m a homebody. It’s my nature. I’m very close to my family. And yet, here I am, 3,000 miles from home, and I’m doing just fine. Granted I talk to my family a lot and still miss them and my friends back in Florida, but, I’m getting along well. I’m really very happy. :) And when I get a job with a little more income, well, I could very well end up completely content! :) Ha! Well, let’s not be hasty… I’m never too content. ;)

Anywho, life is good! Hope yours is treating you well too. :)

Thanks for reading. Till next time…
